[1] Terminology

[1.1] “The student” – is any customer paying Tim Walsh for driving tuition.

[1.2] “The instructor” – is Tim Walsh.

[1.3] “The car” – is the vehicle that is used by the instructor during driving tuition.

[2] Student Responsibilities

[2.1] It is the responsibility of the student to ensure they have their signed valid license during each lesson and that they inform the instructor of any changes made to the license (e.g. penalty points). The instructor reserves the right to request that the student produce their signed valid license during tuition, and may refuse or terminate tuition if they believe that the student does not hold a signed valid license.

[2.2] It is the responsibility of the student to ensure their eyesight meets the required standard for driving. If the student has any special requirements for driving (e.g. glasses), it is the student’s responsibility to inform the instructor of these requirements and to ensure that any required equipment is brought and used for all lessons.

[2.3] It is the student’s responsibility to inform the instructor if they have taken any medication or substance that will affect the student’s ability to drive. The instructor reserves the right to terminate any lesson if the instructor believes that the student is under the influence of medication, alcohol or drugs and the lesson may still be charged in full.

[3] Instructor Responsibilities

[3.1] The instructor agrees to maintain a tuition vehicle that is dual controlled, taxed and fully comprehensively insured.

[3.2] The car may be made available for the student to use for their practical driving test. However, the instructor reserves the right to refuse to allow the student to use the car on the students test if the instructor believes the student has failed to achieve test standard.

[3.3] Occasionally, the instructor may arrive after the pre-arranged time due to circumstances beyond their control. The instructor will make every effort to extend the lesson to ensure the full time is given or may add the time to a following lesson.

[4] Cancellations

[4.1] If the student wishes to cancel a lesson, they must give the instructor at least 24 hours’ notice, or the lesson may be charged in full. This is at the discretion of the instructor.

[4.2] The instructor reserves the right to cancel any lesson at any time. Reasons for lesson cancellation include, but are not limited to;

  • Illness
  • Mechanical breakdown
  • Unsafe weather conditions for driving
